Trip Overview

Rolwaling Valley trek is a high nountain valley trek across the western border of Nepal. The challenging trail, no lodging and food to buy in the trail and then you should have a special permit to visit Rolwaling makes the trek more interesting and mysterious. The trail passes through the alpine lakes, high pastures, waterfalls, hanging glaciers and view of snowcapped mountains. This beautiful journey combines the glory of both Khumbu region and Rolwaling valley. The trek offers the majestic views of snowcapped mountains including Mt. Everest, Dorje Lakpa, Gauri Shankhar and Tso Rolpa lake. It is also believed that this place is the home of mysterious animal ‘Yeti’ who has been living in this snow peaks since hundreds of years. Feel free to visit this trek and if you are lucky enough you may get a glance of the mysterious animal Yei.


Rolwaling Valley Trek starts from Kathmandu with a drive to Barabise. We will start trekking from Barabise passing through the deep rhododendron and magnolia forests, traditional villages, farmland and small passes to reach the village of Rolwaling Valley. We will then head ahead and climb through the village of Na, one of the oldest villages of Rolwaling which offers a breathtaking view of Tsho Lake. Tsho lake is the biggest glacial lake in Rolwaling which is located on the base of Chobuje (6686m). The trail passes through several Tibetan monasteries and many authentic small and ancient villages which offer the best trekking experience to the visitors. One of the major attractions of this trek is the spectacular view of Gaurishankhar Himal.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: – Greetings at Kathmandu Airport
Day 02: – A full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the capital valley
Day 03: – Katmandu to Dolkha (1650m)
Day 04: – Dolakha to Shigati (1020m).
Day 05: – Shigati to Gongar (1350m).
Day 06: – Gongar to Simigaon (2020m).
Day 07: – Simigaon to Donga (2800m).
Day 08: – Donga to Beding (3690m).
Day 09: – Beding to Na (4180m).
Day 10: – Na. Acclimatization day.
Day 11: – Na to Nyiduk Kongma (4750m).
Day 12: – Nyiduk Kongma Drolumbau Glacier (5200m).
Day 13: – Drolumbau Glacier to Tashi Lapsa passes (5755m)
Day 14: – Camp to Thame (3800m).
Day 15: – Thame to Namche Bazar (3440m).
Day 16: – Namche Bazaar trekking to Lukla (2,850)
Day 17: – Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 18: – Kathmandu free day.
Day 19: – Final Departure

Cost Include

  • Airport / Hotel / Airport pick up & drop by private car or van. It is depend of the group.
  • Two nights standard accommodation in 2/3/4/5 star category hotel in Kathmandu located tourist center, or up to you.
  • Meals on full board (Breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the trekking
