If you wish to enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of Himalayas along with the spectacular view of two of the famous lakes of Nepal (Rara lake and Shey Phoksundo lake) then the Upper Dolpa Trek is an ideal option for you. Upper Dolpa Trek is a trekking to one of the most remote and under developed district of Nepal. This trek is a trek in the hidden and mysterious land of Dolpa District which lies in the far western development region of Nepal. The entire district of Dolpa was closed to foreigners until 1989, when the southern part of Dolpa was opened to organized groups. The Uooer Dolpa Trek offers the spectacular sight of mysterious mountains, snow leopards, blue sheep, unique culture and lifestyle and different tropical landscapes. The main attraction of this trek is the famous Shey Gompa and Shey Phoksundo Lake. Saldang, Dho Tarap, authentic buddhist monuments, David Snell groove’s Himalayan pilgrimage and Shey Phoksundo National Park are other attraction of this trek. This area is the home of spotted snow leopards, blue sheep, wolves and a wide variety of flora and fauna. The ancient and rare Buddhist Bon Po religion is still in practice in this area. Most of the people are involved in the salt trade from Tibet as it is difficult to grow crops in this area. Upper Dolpa Trek is especially designed for those people who are physically fit and want to explore the beauty of Himalayas in a short period of time.
